Happy Veterans Day!! Remembering those who served us!

I just wanted to take a moment to THANK all of the brave men and woman who have served our country. I believe no matter what political opinions we have we MUST continue to support those who serve us. This is a great country we live in and without those who have served who knows what our country would be like.

This morning on the news I heard some startling facts. According to the Nation Survey of Homeless Assistance Providers and Clients "Conservatively one out of five homeless men who is sleeping in a doorway, alley or box in cities and rural communities has put on a uniform and served this country...."

This statistic shocked me. But there are things we can do to help by supporting organizations out there that help veterans. A few of the organizations that are trying to help are:

The Veterans Administration Homeless Veterans Programs: 800-827-1000

Hire A Hero - 866-440-4424

Please take today to thank a veteran and pray for the safety of those who are surving us today and for those who have lost their life fighting for our freedom!

Today is a time to remember - not just a day off work or out of school.  I am proud that both my father, step father and husband have spent time in the military. If it were not for brave  men and woman like them we may not have enjoyed the freedom to post what we want on sites like Activerain.

Living in Palmdale I am surrounded by Veterans every day as we live very close to Edwards AFB. I am proud that many of these veterans are my friends, neighbors as well as clients.  Kudos to all the Vets out there!!
