Do You Bury A Saint Joseph Statue When Selling Your Ann Arbor Home?

Why do some Ann Arbor Area home sellers bury the statue of Saint Joseph? Patron Saints are protectors and guardians of special aspects of our lives. Why not just bury any statue? There are hundreds of Patron Saints, for example: St. Christopher, for Safe Travel; St. Raphael, for Nurses; Saint Michael the

Archangel, for Paratroopers. Why Saint Joseph? Because he is the patron saint of homes and the family. Saint Joseph was a carpenter.

Look at the photo of Sarah here in this post. I see a happy young girl getting ready to bury Saint Joseph in her front yard. Can’t you just feel her excitement, as she holds a shovel and the statue and is ready to go?

Remember when you were a child and asked to do an activity that would include tools?  Imagine if your parents bought a statue of Saint Joseph and told you to get out the shovel, dig a hole, and bury it!

Selling a home is stressful for adults and also for children. But when they become involved in the home-selling process, a little of the stress can go right away. That Sunday morning, the Priest from St Joseph in Dexter blessed the statue. Sarah helped bury the statue of Saint Joseph at her house with the full understanding that if she prayed to Saint Joseph he would intercede to God and help out in the process of getting her house sold quickly.

This part of Sarah’s story is true – The REALTOR® called with an offer and the home sold that afternoon!  Did they have a miracle? I say, yes. And we also have an answer to a child’s prayer. That is exactly what happened to Sarah last weekend. I call that a miracle and a faith building exercise as well.

Was the house priced right? Yes. Was the house ready for showings? Yes. Was Saint Joseph buried in the yard? Yes. And this is exactly what it took in this particular home sale along with the participation of a believing family that understands that the children need to be part of the move, and not just something to be moved around. What really sold this home? Preparation, planning, pricing and planting a statue of Saint Joseph along with a little prayer that God would bring a buyer to purchase their house.

Some may laugh, but, are they in need of a miracle to sell their home? Do they need a statue of Saint Joseph? Are you looking at your Selling options? Want to Know What Your House is Worth?

I admit to putting a St. Joseph statue by the front door when I sold my own house a few years ago. Sold it quickly and at list. But I didn't bury it - seemed a little rude! I've heard of people sticking stickers of St. Joseph in hidden locations of houses they want to buy - wonder if that works?!
