News from Las Vegas real estate. There is no other city like Las Vegas. The changes are exploding every where and the transformation is nothing less than magic. New buildings, hotels, resorts, casinos, civic centers... are coming up to life in an unprecedented pace.

Stardust, Wynn Parking, Dunes, Hacienda, Alladin, Dessert Inn, Sands... are few of the old landmarks that were imploded to make space to new constructions on Las Vegas Strip.

It is now the New Frontier Hotel and Casino time to go into Las Vegas history. Elvis Presley did his first Las Vegas performance in 1956. Diana Ross, Ronald Reagan, The Supremes and Siegfried and Roy also performed here... We turn a new page!

The New Frontier Hotel and Casino will be blown into Las Vegas history early Tuesday Nov.13th. morning at 2:30 am. when it is imploded, to make way for construction of a new resort that will resemble the Plaza Hotel in New York City...

There will be a brief fireworks display before the implosion. It is expected tot take less than 10 seconds to bring the building down.

A new $5 billion luxury resort modeled on the Plaza hotel in New York City will be erected from the old Las Vegas buiding ashes!

Vegas is just like Central Florida, if its outdated they just bulldoze it down and build new. Unfortunate they both destroy a big part of there past for what is called "Progress"

I didnt know that, thanks for the "heads up". I love Las Vegas, visit twice a year at CES time and mid March. I no longer stay on the strip but do love going there, so much excitement, never walk as much as I do on the strip at night. Oops, I think I broke a golden rule "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas", oh well.

Have a great day

To hear the name Las Vegas usually cause me to think excitement. It is a City of the move. I couldn't help to notice that you did reference New York City though. NYC is still number one....lol

Steve, I do agree with you there are two faces of the coin. On one is the "progress" and the other one is the "preservation"... We have to make hard decisions.

Stephen, Derrick : Indeed it is a fever of constructions and reinventing this city. All eyes < even internationally > are concentrated on investments here... In few years we'll not even recognize the old Las Vegas.

Nice to see a part of Vegas, I stayed one night there and did not get to stay to see more.  My husband and I went on a bike trip through Vegas and the mountains.  Loved the views.

Thank you for the comments, you are right about buyers in this market - they are ready to buy in 8 months it seems!

This is a great post!  I saw the implosion on TV and the "I" was still perfectly intact after it all came down!

Is it the Echelon project going in there?

Arina, I'm always amazed in Las Vegas how they implode buidings and start all over. In one sense that is so cool. Out with the old, up with the new. But I understand the comments about preservation too. I think with all the gambling money flowing into town, Las Vegas and cities like Reno can do more of this than other areas of the country. Must be real cool for visitors to stop by and watch the detonation. Kind of like going to Kennedy Space Center and seeing a launch. Another tourist attraction.

Gary : Thank you for your comment. You're right! everything is happening fast and furious... the pulse of this city is unbelievable. In the next 5 years it's going to become the world center of entertainment. From the modest beginning of the 20's to what we have today has not be seen in any other city in the world...

Beatrice : It is indeed a place to see for everybody. Like yourself, the nature lovers will find many places to spend a quiet time far from the Strip and all that....
