Home Security 101:  The Great and Powerful Stick

Can anyone tell me when The Stick became such a first-rate home security measure?  Sure, folks have used sticks or clubs to fight in alleys for years and years- but when did this piece of equipment become such a versatile means of home protection?

I can't remember exactly when these trendy things first came on the scene- but I can surely see why...

Properly installed (as in the attached photo), you, too can rest easy at night knowing The Stick has your family protected.

Home Security 101:  The Great and Powerful Stick

Folks' use of The Stick for home security truly is an interesting phenomenon.  The Stick doesn't produce an audible alarm to scare off an intruder. The Stick isn't going to call the cops and let them know a burglary's in progress and heck, The Stick really doesn't come with any fancy monitoring service whatsoever.

So what's The Stick have going for it?  Yep, price.

No monthly fees, no installation fees, and it's a pretty dang easy system to activate- anyone from your smallest child to the elderly can turn The Stick on with little effort and minimal training...

And if an intruder actually makes it ppast your first layer of home security, what would you rather have next to your bed- and extra keypad of some sort, or an extra Stick?

Well, enough of this blogging foolishness...I've gotta go out back and chop me down a Home Security device or two...

Hi, Wallace:  As always, I thank you for stopping by and for your comment.  Funny (though not "ha ha!" funny) you mention a stick with nails in it:  one of the worst fights I've ever seen was back in my high school days.  I rode the bus, and all of the buses went to a hub where folks switched around before the buses proceeded to their particular high schools.

One day while folks were switching, a fight broke out between two girls (notice I didn't say "young ladies").  One of them pulled out a stick with nails in it and just started wailing on the other one- blood everywhere.

I always think back on that and wonder "How in the heck did that girl hide that thing until she pulled it out?"

The Stick in the photo here is a more humane, Supreme Court-friendly kind of Stick...ha!

Hi, Charita:  Wouldn't be a bad idea- and I don't know why a company hasn't done it yet.

And one more thing....

Rolllllll Tide, Roll!
