So tonite, Chicago like so many other cities is now experiencing its first real visual confirmation of winter.  Namely, snowfall.  And tonite, like so many other nights, there are many foreclosed and vacant homes in the Chicago metro area.

So, if snow falls on a foreclosed house, is it still a foreclosure?  I mean, depending on the amount of snowfall we get, it is conceivable that so much of the house (or houses) could be covered up that you can't tell one house from another.

Granted, at some point, the snow will melt and reality will return, but for tonite, those foreclosed houses look just like the neighboring houses (save the big sheets of plywood covering up windows and doors :-)

Nope, regardless of snow or rain or sunshine its still a home and still something that someone will appreciate, improve and call home. For now its owned by the bank but that too will be fleeting before its back on duty taking care of a family!

Wouldn't it be lovely to have a snowstorm! I would enjoy that!

Yes, it will still be a foreclosure, because no one will shovel the walk, or clear away the dangerous ice. (yes the banks are supposed to, but you know how banks are)

James, indeed it is Chicago and snow does fall here....the good news is that for a short period of time everything is peaceful and quiet and pretty.

I completely agree, provided the home is located in an area where people will choose to live, soon enough, that place will be occupied.

Lindsey, come on over..we'll even let you shovel snow when you're done making snow angels.

Donald, yep, it surely is.  And yes, as soon as the snow starts to melt or people get up the next day and start walking around, the 'foreclosure' appearance will surely stand out.
