Technology Age Frustrations
Since the demise of Picasa on my computer, taking with it most of the intelligence and hiding all my photos under a grey veil, restoration has become a drawn out task fast approaching hobby status.
Yesterday, I played with a program designed to scan my hard disk to determine whether any photos existed. A mere hour later the scan was well into its task; well, 59 minutes exactly. It then launched a screen to read the files extracted.
Time remaining : 759,864,291 minute(s).
Time not only for a hot drink but a shower and shave as well.
An hour later the program was happily counting down at one minute per minute.
But, stone the crows, mate, the total is not much short of of 1,450 years. I shall probably have to purchase a few new computers in that time.
Result of hitting "cancel": the photos are definitely in existence, well spaced out along with a record of every pixel change I think I have ever made, and in no particular order or grouping that I have yet been able to determine.
Ah well ~I have all the time in the world.
