Fender Bender Monday, Put A Dent In My Car But Enriched my life !

By

Monday's are my least favorite day of the week.  Today was no exception the usual busy work day for me running from point A to point B.  As I was running around today I had a little fender bender (in my regular car) with a 87 year old lady.  She was ok but when she told me she was 87 I was shaken all I could vision was her having a heart attack from being shaken up. Needles to say I was horrified and just gave her a big hug. We exchanged information and went on our way. As I drove off and my thoughts of her having a heart attack would not leave my mind.  So I looked at the information with her address on it and turned around and drove to her home.

When I got there I knocked on the front door --- no answer. So I went to her side door and knocked--- again no answer. I started to panic and calling out her name and knocking even harder to no avail--- So I walked around to her back yard to see if she was back there---no site of her at all.  So I walked back to my car to get my cell phone to call 911 and right before I dialed it she poked her head out of her front door and motioned me up to the door. As I walked up to the door I was thinking to myself she must think I am crazy and I couldn't really blame her if she was thinking that.  When I got to her front door all I could say was "are you OK?" She replied "Dear at my age that is no big deal!"Then she said "Could you use a cup of Coffee?" said I sure could.

I went in to Mrs. Francis H's home had some coffee and visited for about two hours.  I will say she is one of the most interesting people I have met in a long time. The wisdom she left me with today is not to sweat the small things.

I plan to have many more cups of coffee with her and share her wisdom with everyone I know. And another thing I learned today is that there can be something positive come from a not so positive situation. Happy Monday:)

Thank you Francis  for bumping into me today!

Ginger, Who says REALTORS only care about the almighty dollar?  It is a shame more people don't realize we are part of the human world - great post and attitude, Karen
