Barbara Hensley is Broker of Re/Max Hometown . I read her Blogs about Rockwall and surrounding areas daily and feel like I have already been to Lake Ray Hubbard. She knows the real estate market well and provides market reports on her blog. I have become friends with her and usually comment on her posts. She is a wonderful caring friendly person.Her clients are fortunate to be working with her because she provides great service . I would like to refer her to a client who moved to Dallas after I sold their house. They might be looking for investement properties. I emailed Barbara some questions. Here are the answers.
1. How long have you worked in Real Estate ?
I have been in real estate a little over the 30 year mark, always in this area, Rockwall County.
2.What was the proudest momemt of your career ?
My proudest moment was when the Greater Dallas Association of Realtors (now MetroTex) selected me to receive the Realtor of the Year Award. I was, and remain, the only Realtor from anywhere close to my area to achieve this honor as we are in a separate count from Dallas County. I was noted as the Realtor who put Rockwall on the map and this still gives me that warm fuzzy feeling when people mention this.
3. What is your specialty ?
I specialize in the Rockwall County area, the smallest county in Texas, and specialize in being a listing agent, placing my listings in The Barbara Hensley Collection, which has become known for my signature frames and unique marketing. I usually have a nice selection of Luxury Homes but list all price ranges, taking pride in marketing each listing as if it were a million dollar listing. I am known for my marketing. I have had people call to ask how they can get their home in The Barbara Hensley Collection.
4. What do you love the most about your profession?
I love marketing and seem to see the daily happenings around me as “ads”. I also enjoy being able to be “the solution” for my clients and I love it when they get excited about how their home is marketed. Placing people in the right properties is exciting, regardless of the price point. There is nothing quite like the excitement of “closing” day and I try to make it special for my clients. Basically, I love real estate, love Rockwall County & love being THE solution to my clients’ real estate needs.
5. Why should people choose you to represent them in the sale or purchase of a home.?
I tell my potential sellers exactly what will be done to market their property, complete with a written marketing plan customized for them. I do not talk about other agents, I tell them exactly what I do and ask them to compare it with anything else they can find in the marketplace. I tell them to Google me and call references. I let them know I will always tell them the truth and I provide a written guarantee that I will do everything in my marketing plan. I always try to exceed their expectations. I am the Hometown Realtor with a World of Experience – know the area and know how to market their homes to a global market.
6. Name one tip that you would give a buyer or seller ?
The best tip I can offer a home seller is to engage the right Realtor. This would be someone who is an expert in the local area, has a proven track record and can and will position their home to be found in this global real estate market. They should never consider a friend, relative or part time person as they will get exactly what that person is able to provide, which in this market is likely not nearly enough. Selling homes these days is not a sport, but a battle and a tough, experienced team”.
