Hi David, we used to have a Saint Bernard - an awesome breed! So gentle around kids and so easy around the house but he loved to go and socialize! We always had to travel quite a ways to get to a good dog park - next time we move I'll be putting that on my list of must-haves in the area!
Hi David - I can't believe how much open space is available to the public. That is wonderful.
We are pretty lucky around here if you know where to look.
Dog parks, something that some communities seem to forget about! GREAT choice for a post!
David -- What a valuable post for owners of our furry friends in lower Fairfield County. Our dogs need to get out of the house and take in some fresh air and exercise probably more than we do since that's instinctive by nature. Having such a great number of choices makes it easier. I used to frequent the Lake Mohegan/Cascades area years ago with my dog. He was so exhausted when he came home he was out of it until the next day!....but he LOVED it! Great post!
Oh my dogs would love any of these activities that don't involve snow or cold :)
They say if you eat vegetables daily you will live an average of 2 years more, if you live with a dog that will add an average of 7 years.
David, I find it amazing that dogs, that would otherwise be aggressive towards eachother, seem to play so well at dog parks.
David, Who wouldn't prefer dogs over vegetables? Doy think we get 7 years for EACH dog? I'm gonna be around for a long time!
Very good information for prospective home buyers. We sure could use some dog parks in our area.
Have an outstanding month and be sure to have your camera in hand to capture the special moments.

Hi David,
We have several dog parks in our area and the community loves to take their dogs there...especially the big dogs as they need more room to run but be safe. Thanks for sharing and I really enjoyed your post and your pictures.
Fairfield County looks to have wonderful dog parks and walks available - great localism post, David! Are those pooches yours?
Hi David,
We have several dog parks in our area and I have always wanted to take our Bandit to one but haven't yet. He loves other dogs and loves to run and play so I think it would be great.
Lisa
Dog parks are not just for the pooch, I meet so many of my neighbors and new friends there as well.
