Yes, it is haunted and you can advertise it as such. Quitman Arkansas new listing.

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Advantage

It's a first.  After over 30 years in real estate I had a seller say his house was haunted and I could advertise it that way.  So here goes!  But he is NOT selling it because it is haunted.  He is selling it because of health problems which caused financial problems.  Look at this beauty.  This is the front.

65 Mulberry Quitman AR

65 Mulberry Quitman AR

This house was built around 1900 so that makes it about 112 years old!  The present owner has added siding, replacement windows, metal roof, new septic, new wiring, insulation and two central heat and air units.  He has lived in it for over 10 years and made friends with the spirits who dwell there with him.

The house has 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, 3152 sq. feet and several porches, fireplace, and a two car garage.  Perhaps in future blogs I can tell you more about the personalities of the spirit occupants but if you are in a hurry you can google it!  Just google Quitman Arkansas haunted house.

It is priced at $130,000 with offers accepted and studied and presented to the financial institution.  MLS 10306710.

Guess how I was considered for the listing?  Activerain blogging!  They read this blog.  And this one.  That's the power of our blogsite, Activerain.

Debbie, the old houses are so impressive from the outside, aren't they?  Thanks for comment.

Jo-Anne, tell me about your haunted house experience!  I'd love to hear them.

Such a pretty house. I hope someone sends you old photos of the place before the renovation, for comparison purposes. You should host a midnight Open House!

Oh!  I love the house...and of course...I think they found the perfect person to share it with the world...Is it just as impressive on the inside?

I hope you find someone who has a great appreciation for this beauty...wouldn't it make a nice bed and breakfast?  Aren't they doing a lot of oil field work in the Quitman area...I'm sure those boys would love to have a home to come to with a hot meal, a hot shower, and a soft place to sleep...just make sure you have lots of dawn dishwashing liquid so they can clean up...My grandmother had a boarding house...sometimes I think that I do too...

Love the house...but then we love older houses...

This house is 1.7 miles from the Carter homestead where I go each October for a Humble Cousin's reunion.

Debbie, I loved your comment.

Valerie, excellent idea.  I'll let you do it!

Anita, you can help Valerie host it.

Debbie, it would make a good boarding house and I hope someone will consider that as an option.  Bed and breakfast is what they are now called, I guess.

Don, welcome back and I love your new picture with you and Paula.  We will always remember her.  I also like your picture of the house.  It is actually prettier than the one I put up because you have lovely fall colors.

Anita, call me if you'd like directions.

Debbie, another good comment!

Mary, the "Dog Boy" story is pretty scary but the other spiritual stories are not.  The owner wasn't afraid of the house and he lived there a long time.

Mary, my associate Mark Lercher and his wife Alice have given me one of the first copies of the new book about Searcy.  I am looking forward to receiving it as they also preordered it.  I will wait and see what your Bethune book review is like when you read it.

Yeah, I remember the older blogs about this house. Awesome! But I'm not moving to Quitman.

I'm really excited about that Searcy book. I interviewed Patsy and the other lady who helped her put it together a couple of times for the Citizen. I think I interviewed Ed Bethune once, too...

Luke, we miss you in Searcy.  You may have started something, though, because there was an article about our old post office in the paper today.  Folks are probably demanding Luke Jones-type historical stories!  LOL

Hello Barbara ... This is very unusual owners claiming that their home is haunted. I have read about these types of homes across the country and all I know is in Las Vegas it is against the rules as a agent, and we can be fined.

Your post and photos have been featured at one of my favorite groups at AR ...
