Big name brands, famous sounding companies and impressive businesses always use the same thing over and over to get you to visit with them and do business. They will use coupons, discounts, clever marketing programs, effective public relations and even special offers. But it all comes down to this. You and the person representing the other

IS IT REAL OR HYPE

That's why I will listen with respect the brand names and their campaigns to get my attention, but if I don't get someone who lines up with the business model or that can get me what I want, we go no farther than that. All that noise to get me to stop, look and listen has to be real

BANKS TALK BUT DON'T WALK

Today, it is not hard to single out who s who. For instance, the banks are in the lime light and they have proven to be mostly inept at customer servicing where and when it is most needed. Yet they still have marketing programs out there saying other wise. Waste of time and money. They do not address or service their clientele

WE KNOW WHO IS NAUGHTY OR NICE

By contrast, Disneyland, In & Out and Nordstroms all come through as represented. The people on the front lines are the ones that are keeping the commitments and the good will going. You will also find that certain companies treat their reps really well making it all make sense. That means you will be treated well also

WHEN ITS YOUR TURN

As professionals in our fields of endeavor, we are the ones on the front lines. It all comes down to making good on what you are representing and then delivering the goods. It is as simple as that. Whatever you are selling, people will buy if you can deliver as presented. Do it really well, and you get repeat business

REAL IS THE NEW DEAL

I like it when a company or a person does what it says it will do. No small print or double talk. And like it even more when something goes wrong and they go all out to correct it. It is that type of operation that will always prosper and do well.

 PEOPLE TO PEOPLE

I will say this. I don't care who it is as far as the big and impressive names go...In the end, you are going to be dealing with someone face to face, eye to eye, voice to voice and what that persons qualifications are is of the utmost importance. Every business relies on people..on both sides to get things done.

Great post Richie.  In the era of Social Media and people who seem to have their cell phones attached to them as if it were another finger - Face to Face interaction seems to  have become secondary.  Like stated at the top of the pyramid in the book "Seven Levels of communication" one still needs to meet 1 on 1 and talk to one another (I know the Gen Y people of this world are amazed).  Thanks for sharing this poist
