Some Thoughts for Saturday.....

Here in Cedar City we have been enjoying some really great weather!  It isn’t good for the Skiing Industry in Brian Head, they have to make their own snow.  It is good for people like me who don’t ski but love to enjoy the natural beauty of Southern Utah.  Places are still mostly accessible due to the lack of snow on the ground.

I am optimistic that will have a snow season similar to last year with snow late into the Spring like it did last year.  I remember last year having March weather in January and vice versa.  If you’re of a mind, I will show you some of the sights that are still easily accessible.  Keep in mind one good snow storm changes everything.

At Cedar City we are about 5300 feet above sea level and the mountains go up from there, so it only takes one storm to close roads and make travelling treacherous.  For now, we have some great sights to enjoy.  I hope that you like them!  Also please keep in mind, we have been swamped since before the Holidays, so many of these pictures were taken during the Summer and Fall.  We just have not had the time to go get updated photos.

Well, you get the idea.  With tempuratures in the mid 50's, there are a lot of great places to see!

How nice that you can enjoy the good weather since you don't ski.  It must be hard for the resorts though and I hope they get some snow up high soon.

Hi Tony & Darcy,

Those are some beautiful pictures. I love the colors and the rock formations. We are in the mid 60's right now and I wish we were just a little cooler. I think 50 degrees would be very pleasant. Hope you get a chill and a little snow so you can take some pictures and post them for us. Have a great Sunday.

You are so right about snow changing everything in site. These images have so much of our frontier west in them. Your Cedar Park community looks like it has many of the gifts of our national parks!

HI Tony and Darcy - stunning photos for sure. Zion is gorgeous and love the lake as well. Is there boating there during the summer months?

Cedar City looks like much of New Mexico.  Albuquerque's elevation is 5479 ft above sea level and we to had a dry winter last year with a colder spring.  I too am expecting this year to be much the same.  As we can't control Mother Nature we must just go with the flow, enjoy our nice winter and pray for moisture to come our way.   Great photos showing off your beautiful area!

Beautiful pictures!

We had a three-week winter, a one-week spring, and now it looks like summer is here!

Chris, Thank you!  We think so too.

Joshua, Thank you, it does reflect the beauty to be found here in this country!

Michael, Thank you!  I have been thinking that a trip out East may be in order for Darcy and I.

Georgina, If we don't get snow at least in the mountains, it will cause a lot of problems later this Summer.  I know that the ski resorts really want a few really good storms as soon as possible!

Kristin, I don't mind the 60's we have been in the 50's which is nice.  We really need some snow at least in the high country.  I am not a fan of it in my yard, but we are getting to the point of taking what we can get!

Emily, We have 5 National Parks within 3 hours driving (under normal driving conditions).  So we really are lucky to have so much so near by!

Sharon, They do boat on it, mainly for fishing, but Lake Powell is also reasonably near by, as well as Sand Hollow, Quail Creek, and Gunlock where there are a lot of jet skiing and boating opportunities.

John, Thank you!  How did the old commercial go? You can't fool with Mother Nature?  Something like that.  I do hope that we have a wet Spring.

Russel, Show off! LOL, that is what I love about San Diego, the weather!
