2012 Color Forcasts:
My Predictions: skinny budget, Hyper-Local, Organic, Virtual/Virtual Desktop, Social, and Strategic Default.
I believe people are tired of the recession and all that goes with it. My prediction is we'll begin to see some changes in attitude and actions. The real change will begin after the election regardless of who wins.
I think the word "skinny" has been overused but, we'll see it for a bit longer.
Hyper-Local has just started getting traction and we'll see it for more years to come. People really want to support their local communities.
Organic doesn't just apply to Google. We've started to see a trend in eating and more people are looking at healthy alternatives. It's evident in how we say name brand seller "re-branding" themselves as a healthier alternative. We're seeing more restaurants using organic, healthy and Local foods.
With all the technology available, people are working "where they're at" creating a virtual desk or office.
The Social Trend is in full force and will continue although with some changes. I do believe people are tired of being bombarded and will become a bit choosier in which social media ads/blogs they choose to read/receive. As the market is flooded with more people getting on the social media boat, you'll have to become more creative and consistent to stay in front of the crowd.
I do think we're going to see a change in the foreclosure and short sale market. Banks are looking for ways to forgo the foreclosure process, keep homes from being vacant, and make a smoother transition.
