Mitchell...I went online to check out some old photos from the past. I didn't realize this (these) were an officical park! Love it. Congrats on the fast feature. :)
Hi Mitchell, NYC is one of my favorite places to visit! Your post makes me feel like I am a part of it. To repeat David, Congrats on the fast feature!
Hi Hannah, The Ostrich sculptures are right out my front door. One morning they just appeared there.
Hi David, The mall is a park. The city takes care of watering and maintaining the plants. The Broadway Mall Association is a non profit that pays for the Christmas lights and art exhibits. My building along with a few other buildings sponsors the malls between 86th and 87th Streets.
Linda, Thanks, I was not expecting a feature. Thanks for the feature AR G-d's.
Mitchell,
What a lovely way to take a walk and view these beautiful sculptures. It is what I associate with New York, doing the mundane with panache. Walking with Art, and congrats on the feature. A
Mitchell,
That is great. Thanks for sharing. That is a beautiful way to decorate the city. :)

Hi Alexandra, Thanks, They are interesting. I do like seeing the sculptures every time I walk outside.
Hi Steve, Thanks Here is how it looks at night. I just took this shot when I got home. It is really cold out.
I learn a little more about your wonderful city each and every time you write a post, Mitchell. I had no idea that a park like this existed within your city. Amazing ... and quite unique. Thanks for the wonderful pics too ...
Gene
Mitchell you always have such wonderful information to share about NYC. Next time I visit I will have to look for these sculptures.
Have a great week.
I love malls along the median. We have one in White Plains that is actually a park. Its terrific! Love the photos.
I love it, Mitchell! I bet they are beautiful in the spring with flowers too. You'll have to post for us in all the seasons so we can see the change! Thanks for sharing!!
Hi Gene, Thank you! It's the median in the miiddle of the street. Directly below is the subway.
Hi Jennefer, Thank you. They are all different. Elephants at Columbus Circle, a watering can at 96th Street I have 4 Ostrches in front of my building.
Hi Ruthmarie, Thanks, I love sitting on the benches along the median.
DeeDee, Thank you. They appeared one day in October and they will only be there through April. Hopefully April will be nice.
I LOVE scupltures. Thank you!
What a fabulous addition, Mitchell. Hopefully they will be a permanent fixture.
Mitchell, I love the art/sculptures, so whimsical and full of life as the malls must be too.
What a terrific, whimsical sight to see outside your window in NYC...Enjoy the view!
