Midnight, Nov 12th...FREE AGENTS

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Positive Real Estate Professionals
As of midnight last night free agency for baseball began. Jorge Posada signed to a 4 year $52 million deal just ahead of the deadline...that was a close one!!! Still no word on A-Rod. Andy Pettitte has already declined the $16 million dollar option with the Yankees...wait, where did Clemens go??? Mariano Rivera...will he stay a Yankee??? Luis Vizcaino ???Ā  That is a lot of Yankees players up in the air. Now for the players who enjoy the game a little more than the papparazzi...
Andruw Jones...Braves have already told him they won't resign this 9 time gold glove winner http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3046705 (cut and paste to read more).
Mike Lowell...the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald have reported that the Red Sox would like to sign a three year deal for the World Series MVP.
Barry Bonds...who will dare to grab hold of this lightening rod???
Francisco Cordero...the Brewers excersized his option http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2615943 now will they pay to keep this stand out???
Jose Guillen...the juice (not Simpson) has inundated this Mariner http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3096834 who is not openly in talks!
Torii Hunter...will this Twins standout go to the White Sox or could he travel south to replace the departing Andruw Jones???
Aaron Rowand...another possibility for the Braves??? Great offense and his 2007 Gold Glove could be just what the Braves need to replace Andruw
David Eckstein...Excellent Cardinal shortstop, any team could benefit from this addition...he isn't openly talking with any clubs
Milton Bradley...this wild card is not openly talking yet either...his onfield screamfest this past October and torn knee ligamnets make him a shaky proposition for most clubs.
Tadahito Iguchi...will the Phillies try to hang on to their mid season acquisition???
Todd Jones...Re-signed with the Tigers for a one year $7 million deal
Tom Glavine...he will be a Met or a Brave only!!! With him still having a primary residence in Alpharetta (a suburb of Atlanta) we Braves fans think we have the edge???
Share your thoughts about players. Who would you like to see join your team??? Who is kryptonite???

Hey Rich,

Very informative article. Do you think anyone will ign all the baggage that Barry Bonds brings with him? I hope not, I'm tired of hearing his name and about all of his MVP's. I still think he only deserved three of them. Oh well, that's why I sell real estate and not write about sports. Keep all the good info coming.

Danial - Glad you found it informative. I definitely think there are teams in the AL who would take Bonds even with his baggage. He can fill seats (whether those in the seate cheer or jeer) and unfortunately the game sometimes takes a backseat to business.

On another note: did you notice we have the same last name???

Hahaha! Too funny! I don't think any of the agents I was referring to are actually free. In fact, a couple of them could bankrupt a small country!

Well, it is certainly going to be an interesting off season. As a Red Sox fan, I would love to see Mike Lowell stay in Boston, so only time will tell.

I am also wondering where the $350 million kid will end up...not many teams can afford A-Rod.

I'm thinking Glavine will end up with the Braves and they would love to have him back in their rotation.

We shall see when all dust settles.

Cris - Lowell was a great player with the Marlins and is a great player with the Red Sox. It seems he is definitely an asset wherever he goes. Boston would do well to retain him. This is definitely an exciting time of the year for baseball. As for A-Rod only Disney...I mean time, will tell where he will end up.

Rich, so clever with the puns. What would happen if no one pays him the $350 million and takes on the buyers of real estate attitude?

Danny -Wait and see...wait and see...wait A-Rod unemployed, NEVER! <<<smile>>> there could be a character costume or an Angels uniform waiting in Anaheim. Or is that a Dodgers uniform in LA. Either way, I think Southern California is looking good for A-Rod.
