Weston Florida Real Estate for sale-Don't be a Turkey on Thanksgiving...be a turducken!

Selling homes in Weston Florida can really be hectic at this time of the year and with the holidays approaching....I'm sure everyone is making big plans to spend extra time with their families. In a few weeks it will be Thanksgiving and I'm just here to talk a little bit about the food we eat on this gracious day.

Just remember that this holiday is for giving thanks and beside giving thanks I'm going to be eating quite a bit of food. "Ah...I can smell the aroma now...those candied yams...the cranberry sauce....the mashed potatoes with gravy and don't forget that stuffing...just to name a few."Of course to top it all off we usually have the traditional 40lb turkey or the that sweet succulent ham with brown sugar and pineapples on top. There is usually so many different types of foods and I'm not sure I have enough room to fit it all in my tummy and keep my girlish figure.

But I think this year we might try something a little different...has anyone ever heard of a Turducken? Yes..you heard that right....a Turducken. From the parital definition taken from wikipidea......a Turducken is a de-boned turkey stuffed with a de-boned duck.. which itself is stuffed with a small de-boned chicken.

If you are a football fan you might remember a few years ago during the NFL double feature of games shown on CBS and later Fox....John Madden would talk about all the delicious foods and how he would have his annual Turducken as part of his holiday dinner. I remember he even went as far as to bring it during a regular season game after he saw a patron actually roasting one in the parking lot. John Madden is a big boy!

Sharing food with your friends and family is a great way to catch up with people you haven't seen in a long time and another way to enjoy relaxing in your home. Weston Florida is going to be a very exciting place this year to celebrate the holidays.

A Thanksgiving football tradition! At our house just one bird is enough, with plenty of sides and pumpkin pie for dessert. Have a good Thanksgiving, Neal! ... Just noticed the Trulia widget in your sidebar, nice!

Neal, a 40lb turkey!! That's one big bird!! You must have a large family and lots of fun on holidays!

I love turducken! We occasionally order one from Louisiana and used to send them to our son in D.C. and then N.Y.C. for Thanksgiving if he couldn't come home.

Geez, my turkey (breast only...not even the whole bird) is only about 7.5 lbs! A 40 lb turkey? How many attend your thanksgiving dinners? I'm looking forward to stuffing w/sausage and pumpkin bars w/cream cheese frosting...mmm.

That is hereditary...mine is around 185...but I'll know the new number next week from my blood-work.hopefully lower!..then I'll jack it up for the evening.

Well I have never heard of a Thurducken but it sounds damn good!!! I'm in. Feel free to have one of those shipped over to TLW and BB:) Oops! Don't forget the potamacstuffing. And a piece of pumpple pie.

Well now that is something I have never heard of. Do you have room for one more at your dinner table? You may have just started something here. :)

Have heard about turducken but never tried it--but would like to. I have heard mixed reviews. You'll have to let us know how your crew likes it. Do you or your wife do the cooking or is it a shared duty? We'll be with family and friends and there will be too much food.

It is dam good...I doubt the cook will be putting it on the menu this year but I could go for a bit of it.

I doubt this years cook has it on the menu...it takes lots of work to stuff those.

Neal, the cook can always get it from the Cajun Grocer (that's where we order ours after trying several over the years). They're great for Christmas, as well, though it looks like you've still got time to get one for Thanksgiving if you hurry.

And feed the leftovers to the dog? Perish the thought! Turducken and andouille gumbo is the only thing to do with the leftovers! (Or, wait, Chipotle Turducken Enchiladas, maybe?)

Thats right!..if you read the rest on Wiki it mentions the Cajun origin...I'm not sure if the have one close to us or not...I'm not even sure where I'm eating it yet.

Tricia must be from Louisiana originally! Turducken will send you into cholesterol overload, but it's worth every bite. We just do a turkey with cornbread stuffing, and a ham, and stuffed artichokes, and candied sweet potatoes and....

Nope, I'm a Texan, born and bred, 4th+ generation through all four grandparents. Jumonville is my married name. But when it comes to Louisiana food, I really like to go to the source - so I have my turducken shipped to Texas (or New York City) from Louisiana. (One of my dreams is to go to Baton Rouge and eat my way down the River Road to New Orleans.)

I'll take turkey and stuffing...I know I know...it's the same ole...but it's only once a year! We eat Prime Rib for Christmas.

have heard of the stuffed birds within birds, but have not tasted one yet. The duck should help keep the turkey moist, one would think.

Just got back from DC, then two full days of very good CE classes... brain is numb dumb, and tomorrow is another day.

Neal, never heard of "Turducken" but it sounds good.

We will be having a bunch of friends over like we do every year. Everyone brings something and we provide the 30lbs fresh turkey from one of the local turkey farms.
