Looking back at 2011 as a year in review for the City of Victoria Single Family Homes seems an appropriate place start to review all of the core communinties in and around Greater Victoria.

2011 can be summarized as a transtition year for most of Greater Victoria Real Estate, in which some real estate segments and certain pockets within Greater Victoria saw improvements, where others are seeking a new balance in real estate values, sales and buyers expectations.

In the following days we hope to take you on a tour of the various communities and a variety of property types, to provide you with an overview of the shifts and changes in activel listings, sales, time on the market, the number of sales and listings and try to do so by community and by neighbourhood..

Interesting info - Canada is on a much more even keel - I have relatives on both coasts of Canada - Victoria and NL - and although it varies from location to location - things, on the whole, appear to be bright - Good for you!

HI Marcia,

In General, that is correct, we did not get hit by the lending problems and market collapse as much as the United States, however we are off course affected by it (as is the rest of the world).

It would appear that our Market is showing signs of recovery in the most affordable price ranges, but the damage will take a few years to recover.

In the city of Victoria new contruction is almost exclusively in Cond'o's so nearly no new single family homes in Victoria around.
