I was talking to a neighbor at one of my listings. She asked if I knew any L.O.s and asked me a question that I have never heard before. She is doing a refi and her home is in an area of San Diego that was evacuated during our recent fires. WAMU told her that she would need to update her insurance policy to insure the other 2 units in the building that her townhouse is in. She wanted to know if they can enforce that. What is the deal with that? Can they mandate that as part of her loan conditions? Is it common to have to carry enough insurance to cover your neighbor's homes in a row home situation or a 3 in 1 building? I would love to hear your professional input, thoughts and experience on this.

Thanks for taking the time to help me understand this!
