Mary - We do have a special bond, in my case, I had my sons 11 years apart, so I had that bond with Rick as well as Ryan.  Surprisingly enough, they are very close.  No, Ryan got married last September.  I entered the contest and that is the only song that meant so much to me.

Oh my gosh Candy, I didn't even need to listen to the song to have the tears flow.  As I was reading, I could feel the love you and your son have for each other.  What a blessing that is.  Completely priceless and something that will always be.  Have you read the book Always and Forever?  It's one of my faves that I have read to my children.  My boys now 14 (twins) loved that book.  If you haven't read it, you should.  I'll warn you, it will bring tears to your eyes, but it's such a wonderful book.

Congratulations!  My son is only 2 1/2 and I already think about and dread the day he leaves home!!  But, as a daughter-in-law my advice to you is to realize that you prepared him for this stage of his life, but his decisions are now his (and his wife's) so support them in whatever they choose to do, and they will always welcome you in their home:)

Candy, I can't think of a more beautiful song he could have chosen to show you how much he loves you.  I sometimes argue with my son but we too have this amazing bond that goes so deep.  He's not yet married and I wonder if I can possibly get through it without crying.  Not likely!

Hi Candy,  I love that song. You are lucky to have a son who feels that way about you and would play that at his wedding. You are not losing him. He is just growing up.

This song holds a very special place in my heart as it was selected for me by a group of people who came to know me through some training we were realizing back some 15 years ago.  I still get calls, emails and letters asking if it is still my song.  The answer will always be yes.  You have a much different place for it than I do and the story is wonderful.  Glad we share more than the AR family.  Thank you for the post and thank your son for caring about his mother so openly.
