Spend a day in Boerne and you have a spent a few hours in Texas Heaven. Boerne located just 15 mins outside of Loop 1604 of San Antonio on I-10W, has all the things you expect in a small town, cute shops, old buildings, and lots of community. But it also has all the things you expect in a bigger city. We have the requisite fast food restaurants along with Walmart, PayLess, Home Depot and of course, Texas staple, HEB. And drive that 15 mins down I-10 toward San Antonio and you will find every shop you need located in The Rim & La Cantera Shopping Centers.
Boerne ISD has been on the top 10 list of schools for Texas and still has schools that rank in the exemplary and recognized status yearly. There is nothing like Friday night at Greyhound Stadium during football season. Its where everyone gathers young, old, and in-between. It doesn't matter if you have kids playing ball or in the band, this is where you are suppose to be. The hometown feel of Boerne is not stronger anywhere then during an athletic event at the high school or middle schools. We soon will have two high schools and I am sure that it will just double the feeling. The High School has received State recognition in Soccer, Baseball, Cross Country and Soft Ball. Students have also achieved awards in Destination Imagination, Ford Auto/AAA Auto Contest, and the High School Band went to State this year (2007).
