Newest Wal-Mart in Highland Village, Texas

Well the controversial Wally world finally opened and I just hadto go.  It's definitely not your average Super Center.  The outside is constructed of Austin Stone and is highlighted by the 100 year old Pecan tree smack dab in front.  You don't see the large "always" sign because it's not there.  Neither is the Tire and Lube.  That was replaced by a Bike Repair shop.  Gotta love that!  I have to confess, I was one of the petitioners who didn't want
Big Box Retail" in our town.  Mostly because of the huge tax abatement they usually get and the thought of what it would be like when they moved to the next town and left us with an extra large empty eye sore.  Well, being the most unique store in Texas, we have to feel some sort of pride and happiness.  It's not at all what I thought it would be and I want to thank our city for doing it right.

Cindy, what's funny about WalMart is most people don't want the Super Center to begin with but once it is in place they are in there like everyone else taking advantage of the low prices. This one in Highland Village doesn't even look like a WalMart from the outside with the Austin stone. Very classy! I wonder how many around the country have that? The city should be proud of their new retail business.

Classy it is.  I've heard it's the only one in the Nation.  Aren't we lucky?!?!

but why does highland village police have to direct traffic in and out of it?   highland village did not do it right.

when we get the first bad accident from someone trying to exit the centers drive, then we may have a light put in there.

I tried to get out of there last week and had to turn right and then go around.  This is a dangerous entrance and exit.
