Silicon Valley Booming - Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, and a nice Location.

Another argument for real estate being local is occurring in Silicon Valley. As Case-Shiller reported last month, 18 out of 20 major cities saw real estate values dropping. But in Palo Alto, California real estate is booming and prices are going up.  And the root of this stems from jobs and a nice location.

Silicon Valley is a high-tech hub:  Google, Cisco, Facebook, LinkedIn, and others supply thousands of jobs. And the green, sunny environment makes Silicon Valley the perfect location to buck the real estate trends.

NPR did a great story on this anomaly in real estate value highlighting a local builder and this booming Silicon Valley.

So, as national news spouts negative reports of real estate values, the fact that real estate is local gives me optimism for a quicker recovery of real estate values here is Steamboat Springs, Colorado. We already saw absorption rates increasing in Steamboat for single family home and townhomes.

Real estate is local and there are many areas where real estate is booming like in Silicon Valley. Spread the word.

It's up to us to let the Global Village know what's what with the local real estate market. Not the talking head mainstream media that tries to sound bite the sum up of events in 12 seconds. With one size DOES NOT fit all accuracy.
