It's Christmas already?

I'm sure that this is a highly over-discussed topic, but does it seem that Christmas comes earlier and earlier every year?

I went to the mall last weekend and could not believe that every store had their Christmas decorations up and they were all playing Christmas music!  But what puzzles me most is that all retail stores seemed to be placing Christmas items right next to their Halloween items in October.  Don't get me wrong, I love Halloween and I love Christmas, but I don't feel like I truly get to enjoy each holiday individually.

A local radio station has started playing Christmas music 24/7 from now until the holiday.... and guess what station I keep tuning in to?  I find it hard to stop myself from getting pulled into it.

Have we lost site of the holiday seasons?  Are retailers hurting for business so much that they must start combining Halloween and Christmas?  What do you think?
