Feng Shui Advice for Winter, Nourish your Spirit with Knowledge
Dukeuniversity.com
This post was inspired by Chris Smith who recently wrote "The Joy of Books." During the Winter time, as we all know days become shorter, the weather becomes colder and we tend to stay indoors more often. You can approach this natural phenomenon two ways. One, you can stay in your home and as as research has provided, become depressed due to the lack of Vitamin D and so on. Not to sound like a Debbie Downer, but this is a true fact. OR, two nourish your body, mind and, spirit with new found knowledge to prepare yourself for the upcoming Spring Season and come out swinging and energized. Feng Shui New York Consultant Laura Cerrano prefers option two.

In today's world, books just as with Newspapers are starting to become a thing of the past. New technology is constantly upgrading to offer easy to access information, therefore cutting down the need for traditional printed material for the masses. Looking at this situation from a Feng Shui Perspective, it will be a sad day if this world every decides to completely disregard the importance of printed books.
Everything carries a certain energy, a certain life force to their own effect. Books to some may seem just like heavy objects that tend to take up space. Yes, to many book can bee seen as heavy energy but, we are focusing on the importance behind the meaning of a classic book. The person who took the time to imagine, design, write and create that very book you hold in your hand helps to pass on a serge of energy, inspiration and, ultimately knowledge to the core of your being.
ignite that passion to learn
Books are much more important than we think, they hold the past, present and, future. They have recorded history from the beginning of time...well the rocks did and than paper came into creation :) Technology is known to last for certain amounts of years with the risk of losing information due to computers crashing, contracting Viruses and so on. Books have been known to last thousands of years...hmmm.
All in all, take time this Winter to nourish your spirit with knowledge, let that be with books, electronic books, lectures, workshops, dance classes...what ever it may be. Knowledge is one of the best gifts you can give yourself.
