Mel - great analogy. We're bombarded here and there, more than nudged in my opinion. I'm tired of being "sold." And yes, we do need that "nudge" to keep moving. My take on it, if you feel down in the dredges, work ON your business. That does it for me everytime. Best of luck to you!
Mel-You have a wonderful way of expressing your thoughts and I think you are extraordinary even if you think you are just a regular gal. I always enjoy your posts. They are thought provoking, interesting and a great read.
I envision a "treat" at the end of the task. That's how I often "nudge" myself forward - since I work "solo" much of the time, it's one of the only ways I can keep motivated when I start letting the "what if's" enter my mind. Today, the treat is a glass of wine with my hubby and maybe fresh salmon for dinner. ( I need to go see what seafood they have at Whole Foods today).
And of course, I keep seeing success around every corner. I know I can, I know I can, I know I can. :)
To swim with the sharks, you must possess guts of gold and nerves of steel.
Are you talking about real estate ....
or just the Republican race for President.
A nudge ....is better than fudge....
for someone trying to lose weight like I am.
We do get an awful lot of nudges these days... and maybe not the kind we need most when we're 'down in the dredges.' I like your thoughts Jan ;)
Ahhh Sharon, thank you for expressing your extraordinary thoughts! Those are the kind of nudges we all need to keep our chin up high ;)
I like treats at the end of my tasks too Debb! And Salmon sounds pretty wonderful right about now! I wish we had a Whole Foods Market in our neck of the woods... totally jealous! But, we are getting a Trader Joes very soon!
Don't get me started on politics Jim. But, it's funny you should mention fudge because I almost suggested a nudge for fudge in my post... clever man! Best wishes on losing (that sounds funny ;)
Sometimes a gentle nugde can get help get us going in the right direction. And other times it takes more of a swift kick in the....
Mel,
For us, it is taking a break mid day, going out to lunch, walki or anything else that is unrelated to what we do. It refresh us and clears our mind for the next moment of creativity. A
After an rushed morning and home showings, came back to the home office to find my wife preparing a wonderful grilled salmon lunch. We sat in the sun and enjoyed talking NON- real estate. Now I'm refreshed and ready to pull some properties to show tomorrow and draft my weekend blogs. Sometimes it's the simple things in life.
Mel
There is some swimming with the sharks involved in business and we all could use a nudge now and then.
Good luck and success.

Ah, a little nudge is so much more dangerous than an all out push. Those are the ones that tend to get you. Thank goodness for my life preservers I call my Active Rain friends!
Mel- I think that if it weren't for the little "nudges" we receive in our lives we might just drift along on a rather boring path. Good one!
Swim with sharks? Really, what does Oregon know about sharks? Come down here to Florida and I'll show you have to REALLY swim with sharks.

I totally agree Cindy... A nudge or a kick, the goal is to keep moving forward ;)
The great outdoors provides a beautiful nudge for creativity... Love it Alexandra!
Ahhh, the simple things... now you're speaking my language John :)
Fortunately, we don't have many sharks in our neck of the woods Lou ;)
You probably don't a life preserver Laura... I suspect you're a pretty good swimmer!
So true Kathy... I like things a little spicy, don't you?!
Scuba instructor... wow, I'll leave the sharks to you Kevin... I don't have the guts or nerve for the real thing!
Thank you for the nudge Mel. We all need a reminder every now and then and this is just what I needed today.
Mel
I guess I am going to have to take your advice and get out of the shallow end of the pool. One promise, please don't take to big a bite, OUCH. cheers cvc
