Your house is on the market and your Realtor has just called to schedule a showing this afternoon! What to do with all those odds and ends of things that shouldn't be in your house when it's being shown . . .
Grab a Swoop. That is this delightful over-grown, pumpkin-looking object in the photo. It is actually the Swoop Storage Bag and Play Mat-in-One. Okay, it's clever and cute as a flexible toy bin, but the moment I saw it I thought it was the perfect thing for sellers to use to clear up the last little piles of "stuff" that should be removed from their house during a showing.
I normally suggest to clients that they keep one or two empty plastic bins on hand to collect things like beauty products, dirty laundry, newspapers, magazines, children's and pet's toys, etc. But this adorable Swoop would make the process so much easier.

First of all it is probably easier to carry than a large bin. Second it will adjust to the space available for it in the trunk or back seat. Third, fourth, fifth, sixth--it takes up much less space to store when not needed. If you have young children they can quickly gather their toys into their own Swoop and off they go to grandma's ready to play when they arrive. I bet the children would love to help fill up a Swoop just so they can make everything disappear inside.
I have spent countless hours picking up my grandchildren's Star Wars figures, little shoes for Disney princesses, Lego pieces and many other toys, so I definitely have to have one of these just for that purpose. And I think I am going to order a few more because they would be great to have on hand for clients. You can order your own Swoop at Spoonsisters.com. (And they come in Hot Pink, Lime, Orange and Turquoise!)

Hi Janet ~ What a fun and very practical tip for sellers as well as anyone who wants to "swoop up" a bunch of small items in a hurry -- love it!!
Hi Janet, great item to have handy around any house, for sale or not...
Excellent idea...love the name.
Excellent idea, it might make a fun gift from their stager after the work is completed.
What a wonderful invention. Much better than having your potential buyers step on a little lego piece with bare feet!
Hi Maureen--thank you. That is exactly what I thought when I saw this. Fun and helpful!
Hi Ronald--you're right about that. I have thought of a lot more uses for it since I wrote this blog.
Hi Kim--thanks. I think they named it well, too.
Hi Roger--you must be reading my mind . . . . .
Hi Joanna--I like the fact that you can randomly toss lots of things in here and walk out the door. And you're right about those Lego pieces.
Janet,
never thought of this, however, it's really a great idea.

What a great product! I think I will have to get one for my kids! Thanks for sharing, Janet.
Hi Brian--makes it very easy for sellers to quickly pack up and leave the house ready for a showing.
Hi Birgit--it definitely is a great thing to have for children. Thanks for stopping by.
Great idea! Wish I had seen this before Christmas! I'm sure my daughter and daughter-in-law would each love one!
Janet, cool product and great idea to recommend it for the sellers. I usually suggest foldable laundry containers for the last minute clean up.
Hi Sharon--I agree with you that they are absolutely perfect for people with young children.
Hi Anna--I like the idea of foldable laundry containers, too. I just thought this was too cute to pass up!
Janet. What a neat (pun) gadget. Every mother should have one just for day to day gathering. I told my clients to buy a couple of those huge Ikea bags for tidying before a showing but this is better.
Hi Valerie--thanks. I definitely think it is a "neat" gadget and love your pun. I should have thought of that!
Love this idea, Janet. This would make it so easy for so many sellers! Thanks for sharing it.

Hi Kathy--you are welcome. I love the flexibility of this product and can't wait until mine arrive.
HOW COOL IS THIS? I agree with Roger, great way to 'end' a staging project.
Hi Marie--thanks, I have to agree that Roger said it all!
What a great idea I like it.
Thank you, Jacki!
