On Line Ads Beat Print Spending for the First Time!

By
Managing Real Estate Broker with Flexit Realty "Flexible Home Selling Solutions"

We knew print advertising was having trouble.  We knew newspaper and magazine advertising were not providing the results we expect from our advertising dollar.  In many cases, if client feedback is any indication, print advertising is not working for our cleint either!  Clients want results and look to us as the experts.

"The Internet Has Changed Real Estate Forever"  This statement may not seem like anything new but 5 years ago we were evolving in the new era of online real estate.  I may be one of only a handful in the country to possession college level masters training in Website design and Internet Marketing and own a real estate brokerage.  I know I am the only real estate broker in Grand Rapids Michigan with advanced training in-house.  Print advertising has been in trouble for a few years.  The real confirmation for local print advertisers came in the Grand Rapids Real Estate Market when the second largest paper in Michigan, (distribution) the Grand Rapids Press announced a cutback in home Internet Advertising and Real Estate Marketing can be a great opportunity to expand your business.delivery service to three days per week.

The Internet is 24/7 if you have an IP provider or can link at a hot spot with your phone, tablet or laptop you are good to cruise the Internet.

Emarketer announced that Digital advertising is going to surpass both Newspapers and Magazines for advertising dollars spent this month!  This is the first time in history both have been passed at the same time.  The U.S. market will growing by 23.3% according to the article with a ad spend of approximate 39.5 billion dollars.  Magazine ad spend in expected to max out at just a bit over 36 billion dollars for the entire year in 2011.

This gives you another confirmation of how important online media is going to be for your real business.  It delivers faster and can be more focused if you know how to create your online campaign.

Just a little real estate insider news you may not have seen yet.  Have a great day good luck with your online real estate updates.

Thanks for this information. I do not think print advertising has much of a future outside of putting high end homes in glossy magazines.

Gary, not a surprise there at all. The thought of reading a newspaper takes a big drop for anyone below the age of 40 and it's a significant drop as well.

Indeed it appears print ads keep declining and like Newspapers are getting slimmer and slimmer in content.  For the still existing online resistent citizens who prefer their news, etc in print the papers, mags, etc are getting slimmer and slimmer.  Most if not all newspapers now have a online presence which you use for free -- for now anyway!  Good info thanks for sharing.

This is something we have heard for years. I am thinking that even the newspapers are finally believing it themselves as well.

Hi Gita, the sales numbers reported by the survey confirm what we have all talked about for the last few years.  Thanks for the comments Gita.

Hi Gary, the newspapers bottom line has shown them they must advance to online news and be more local with a blend of national headlines to compete for our viewership.  The advertising dollars that Google, Yahoo and MSN are gathering will change the media business to more of a subscription service.  Thanks for the comments Gary.  Did you get the gate code?
