First 2012 Snow Storm in Connecticut

Mortgage and Lending with George Souto NMLS #65149 FHA, CHFA, VA Mortgages NMLS #65149

As you can see from the picture above we got or first real snow fall in Connecticut.  We had a couple of minor dusting in the past week, but today we got about 6-7 inches in Middletown.  It was the light fluffy stuff so it was easy to get up, especially with a snow blower.

I am sure this is just the beginning of what is in store for the rest of the winter.  Last year we did not start to get snow until January, and once it started, it just kept on coming.  We got several snow storms last year that left more than 15" at a time.  We got so much snow that it was the first time in the 51 years that I have lived in New England that I had to actually use a roof rake.

The snow storms were coming so close together that the snow on the roofs did not have enough time to melt, and it just kept on accumulating, so much so that many roofs collapsed.  I was very fortunate to not have any damage on my roof, but this year I am not taking any chances.  If the snow starts to accumulate more than a foot on my roof I will be out there with the roof rake.

George.  I woke up to about 2 inches here this a.m.  DANG!  I had appts to show properties all day.  The snow was wet and lots of ice until midday made parking difficult because most folks just stayed home.  We had to walk as far as 2 blocks to see one listing.

O.K.  I've had enough.

Great looking picture, we didn't get as much as you did, normally the other way around, being in the Northeaster part of the state. Make it a great weekend George. Good luck with the Football game tomorrow.

George, I understand as one ages the memory gets shorter. Our first snow storm for last year was the day after Christmas, and we got 20 inches, and by this time we had quite a bit additional on the ground. I remember as I can still see my wife out there with hre new Christmas shovel cleaning

It is a peaceful picture George...we received 8 inches and that is too much but the little Wickford Village looked great without the people in it.

George, now that's the kind of snow I'm used to...I don't get to see anything like that in Alabama.  Anyway, I've also had to use a roof rake more than once and at the time I might have complained about it, but I really do like and miss all the snow and cold weather.
