I just wanted to remind everyone about the upcoming vote by our leaders here in Charlotte NC as to whether or not to approve a 1% Real Estate Transfer Fee to all transactions. I have received word that the city officials are bringing in county officials to help push this through.

This is the most obsurd thing I have heard of. I moved here from California to get away from this type of unrepresented taxation which is pure lunacy. Contact your representitives. Have your clients do the same.

Yikes!  A full 1%?!  That is truly egregious.  Your citizens should look up Prop13 and write one of their own!

What are they saying the money will go to?  You know what - it doesn't matter.  I hope you guys put this thing in the 'round file' where it belongs!

How about this: everyone who's so gung-ho about the new tax can just go ahead and volunteer the money themselves.

Good luck!
