You real estate agents have it so easy!
I get this ll the time also, and my response is basically the same, i also invite them to spend 3 days with me and see exactly what i do. some are impressed and others are like WOW, NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT. I have also asked people in my BNI group to send a few days with me and they have never taken me up on it.
“You real estate agents have it so easy” that is what I heard from someone the other day. I asked them what made them say that? They said “You work 5-10 hours a week and make hundreds of thousands of dollars, now don’t tell me that isn’t easy”
WOAH THERE! You think I work 5-10 hours a week? Now, there is your first mistake. Yes, every night I have made the decision to have dinner with my family at 5:30 and yes I do go to the park with my kids often for blogs and yes, I do spend a lot of time at baseball practices and games. But, what you don’t see is that I’m often up at 5:00am and going to bed at midnight.
Now, my schedule isn’t set like yours. I’m not lucky enough to work 9-5, my clients don’t allow me have a set schedule like that. There are times I’m showing homes at 7am before the go to work or at 8pm when they finally get done with their kids’ events.
But, if look at my ever changing schedule you will find I often work 70-80 hours a week and to me that isn’t easy. Now, as for making hundreds of thousands of dollars? I don’t think so! After all my expenses to help my clients you might be surprised a lot of my clients make a heck of a lot more than I do.
So, do you still think real estate agents have it easy? If you do, take two weeks off and spend those two weeks with me, I think you will be happy to go back to your regular job. (There are certainly days I wish I worked were you do)
