There are many, many things that I enjoy about being a Realtor, and one of them is the interaction that I have with fellow agents. Aside from meeting new people and making friends in the business, I truly believe that we need each other to survive in this business. After all, you had the buyer for my new listing, at a time when I didnt have a buyer that fit the homes criteria, etc. Unfortunately, there are some instances when I do not enjoy this job, and usually occurs when greed is present in the deal. While we have come to expect our Buyers and Sellers to be greedy and difficult from time to time, it is somehow more disheartening when it happens with our fellow 'Professionals'. One major instance of this is when an agent tries to double end their own listing, to the detriment of their Seller and their fellow agents. Unfortunately, they will not come out and tell you that they are trying to double end the listing, and you will only find out after much time is wasted spinning your wheels. Many times, scheduling the appointment is impossible. Other times, if you were able to see the listing, communicating with the other agent or getting a response to your contract is is off the table. We have all been there, and have been frustrated by the lack of courtesy that these agents show to their fellow colleagues. That is why I am always grateful to deal with the true real estate professionals who get it and understand how much we need each other. A mentor once gave me these words, and I hope that those who mentor others pass it along, "Co-broke or go broke!" Happy selling everyone!
