Monmouth County, NJ: Aberdeen Township Market Report

November 15, 2007

Hold that turkey leg! There's still folks buying and selling real estate in Monmouth County!

Today I'd like to update loyal readers about market changes in Aberdeen Township, NJ.

  1. First, single family homes sales in Aberdeen are holding steady.
  2. Compared to the overall County, Aberdeen represents a bargain.
  3. Interest rates are still very low. Very few people look in November and December. That's prime hunting season for buyers!

Okay, here are the market stats for the last few years. Aberdeen values are still holding strong. It's a great town, offering commuters several options to New York City and North New Jersey (train, bus and car).

Andrew, that is a huge difference between county and city. Why the big difference?

Danny, in Monmouth County we have some very high priced areas that average well over $1 million in sales. They wreak havoc with the average. That said, Aberdeen really is a neat town. It's affordable, quaint and in the north part of the County which makes commuting easier. Thanks for the question!

Andrew, I grew up in Fair Haven, and don't know where Aberdeen is- how sad is that? :)  Good to know, if I ever return to NJ, that there's a place to live that's within reason!

Laurie, If you travel northwest from Fair Haven, you'll wind up in Aberdeen. Aberdeen is north of Holmdel, south of Hazlet...I think. :) My kids say I have the worst sense of direction.
