Five Types of Real Estate Investors - The First-Time Investor

Did you know that there are five types of real estate investors?  When talking about residential real estate, there are five types of real estate investors. This week, we will be taking a look at these five types of real estate investors and learning a little bit about each type.

House with Dollar BillsThe first type of real estate investor, The First-Time Investor, is simply as the name implies.  The First-Time Investor is an investor buying a home for investment purposes for the first time.  While I recommend that any and all investors purchasing real estate for investment purposes have a plan, having a plan is especially important for the first-time investor.  It is recommended that a first-time investor work with a Real Estate Investment Specialist to develop this plan.

When we sit down to discuss your plan, some of the factors we will Planningtalk about include your purpose for investing in real estate, some of the "mistakes" to avoid, and your tolerance for being a landlord.  The goal for a first-time investor is to find a property that will quickly have a positive cash flow and be profitable in the long-term.  If you are considering becoming a First-Time Investor, contact me so we can discuss your plan today!

Linda, Excellent information! Big difference between types of investors. There are many different insurance options for them as well.  I didn't meet you at the Exit Conference in St Augustine....great event!

Hi Frank, It's nice to "meet" you here!  You are right that there are different insurance options for investors as well.  That is important because the insurance option the investor chooses can effect the cash flow on the property.  Due to circumstances beyond my control, I didn't attend the Exit Convention in St Augustine.  I know I missed a great event!  I appreciate you taking the time to comment!
