Sales have slowed and listings are lingering on the market longer.  What's an agent to do?  It's a great time to give back to the communities our livelihoods depend on.  Get out there and get involved!  The holidays are a wonderful time to share time and talents.

Choose something near and dear to your heart-- donate some time and effort and I promise you will reap the rewards.  You'll be with people, and that's always good in a relationship business.  Your focus will be redirected from the slow market (a temporary condition) to the joy you are capable of delivering to others (an unlimited renewable energy source)!

There are several empty boxes in my office.  The Marine Corps dropped them off as they do every year---Toys for Tots Toy Drive is celebrating its 60th Anniversary this year.  I hope to have all the boxes filled in the next 30 days.  It's a great feeling to see those boxes overflowing with toys for needy children in my community.

Your help is needed.  The choice of what and where is up to you.

Norma--I have been involved with Toys for Tots for several years, firast as a Marine wife, and now as a Realtor.  I head up the Toys for Tots drive in our office.  Last year we collected close to 1000 toys.  I hope to double that this year.  Good on you for supporting this worthwhile project! Your heart will feel good!!

Norma,

This is a great blog - I think people need to do this all year long not just around the holidays or when the market is slow.  So lets promote it today but also in June

Norma - This year our office, Keller Williams Metropolitan, is delivering HEB grocery bags to neighbors, family, friends and clients and asking them to fill them with canned goods for the Houston Food Bank.  We'll pick them up from the homes and deliver them to a specific HEB . . .who'll then get them to the Houston Food Bank.  We've ordered thousands and thousands of bags to deliver.  Yeah . . .it always feels good!!!!

Thanks for pointing this out because we all really do need to take this time of the year to sit back and reflect on just how good we really do have it!  It really does make you feel good when you give back, especially if you do it as an office!  Last year we went to a homeless shelter and brought our own food and fed it to the people staying there that night!  What an eye opening experience...

Michael, yes it's easy to get so involved in our own lives that we forget to help those in need in our community.
