Did you know even Pets Require Orthopedic Surgery!
In December I wrote a blog entitled Knee Surgery and Recovery in 2012 Are you Kidding Me where I shared my 8 month old dog, Lola's impending knee surgery and the two week recovery required. Well that day has arrived and today I picked Lola up at the Vet today after her surgery which was done yesterday.
We have to keep the blue collar on her to prevent her from reaching the stitches in her back leg and she has to remain still. I have not had a sick child or a baby for that matter, in over 20 years so I am not used to the time, care and attention that is required when you become the care giver and nurse. I am more used to monitoring real estate rather than monitoring joint movement or restricting activity.
Lola came home with a pain patch which has her pretty drugged out right now. Until that wears off I'm probably pretty safe.
In the meantime I have put all the toys away so she can't play fetch. We have to watch her so she doesn't run so for 2 weeks and I will be administering the anti-inflammatory pills!
January has been a busy Real Estate Month and I find myself slowing down my pace to take care of Lola for a few days until she gets her stitches out. The good news is while Lola heals, I can monitor the 5 contracts I already have in place to close in February from home!
