Well 3915 passed the House...

We all  knew it would.  But the big question is  Will it pass the Senate or a Presidential signature?  We do need reform. We need all originators to be licensed, just like stock brokers, insurance agents and Real Estate agents, regardless of where they work. A loan is a loan is a loan.  But we do not need legislation that will constrict  the availability of credit. This will. While it all sounds like a great plan now, just wait until it does actually become law, and you can't get you client a loan,  then you will realize that there was a knee jerk reaction to the mortgage crisis.  I hope the Senate is more rational about this.  But being an election year, predatory lending plays well back home to voters. It sounds good on the television ad radio to say you stopped predatory lending.  But they may be stopping their friends and constituents from being homeowners.  But according to some politicians, not everyone should be able to think for themselves or use their home equity for their own use.  I thought that we fought for personal freedoms. But anymore it seems like we are being legislated about everything.
