Happy Chinese New Year 2012 - More Eating
As a child we would celebrate the new year with family and food. This week has been a good one. I have been wearing red while working and I have red nailpolish. I have a thing for "red." It is probably because my grandparents taught me the traditions of my kungkung and popo.
When I visited my local Asian grocery store the proprietor asked me if I was Chinese. Actually he said, "Are you ChinEE?" LOL Fortunately he is Vietnamese so I do not take issue with his accent.
I picked up some supplies of food and had this for dinner last night.
It's pork, ginger, cabbage, and choi sum. I mentioned I am on Atkins again since January 19th. Usually I eat noodles. Lots and lots of it for long life.
Instead I had soup. We eat a lot during this time of the year. It's a time of family and celebration. Lots and lots of food too.
Kung Hee Fat Choy! Happy new year....
