I dropped off a couple of overdue books at the Mission Viejo Library the other day and was humbled at the sight of this simple memorial to some of the many fallen veterans of the war in Iraq. I felt such peace as I walked throught the rows of banners. We have peace in this country because of all the devoted service members who have dedicated their lives to this country and our safety. Tonight's the last night to see this memorial.
Rita: I love the sentiment, the photos, and especially the angle of the photos. What a great job you did with this post. You should join Photography and post it there too.

Thanks Bill - it's fun getting to know such an interesting person.
Thank you Mike-as you can see I managed to sort of figure out how to drop the photos into my posts. Next time I'll have to remember to change the image quality in my camera. I keep it on VGA for my appraisal work, otherwise the pdf file appraisals get to big and I can't email them. I'll check out the Photography group. That sounds fun!
Rita,
If you have Photoshop Elements, you can open your file, choose Save For Web, and resize the photos.
If not, you have that neat little Microsoft Paint program. Here's a quick little tutorial just for you.
1. Open the photo in Paint.
2. Choose the Image pull-down menu.
3. Choose Attributes and click on it.
The Attributes window will allow you to resize the photo. You'll have to use a calculator to keep the aspect ratio the same. Paint doesn't have a little box to check to automatically maintain the aspect ratio like Active Rain's "Insert Image" dialog box has under the "Appearance" tab.
4. Resize your image and "save as" to keep the original.
