Meteor Shower!

Watch the skies Saturday night/Sunday morning... it's time for the Leonids meteor shower!

They're saying that after midnight is best because of the angle of attack (before midnight the only ones you see are the ones that can overtake the Earth's orbit), but that the actual peak of activity will be at about 8pm (when Leo is unfortunately below the horizon).  So I'd say sometime tomorrow night, before you turn in for bed, step outside and see what you can see!

Or if you're REALLY into this sort of thing, you could pack your family into the car for a trip north, up to Frazier Park (Mt. Pinos).  During meteor showers you can almost always find groups of people hanging out in the parking lot at the top, it's a great spot to watch from (See... and you thought Frazier Park was only good for sledding!)

Thanks for the reminder.  And I thought I was going to bed early tonight.
