The 2007 REALTORS® Conference & Expo wrapped up this afternoon at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas. More than 30,000 attendees saw 200+ programs and over 700 exhibitors during the four-day event. Here is some of the week's coverage from around the blogosphere:

  • InmanBlog has extensive posts including the real estate industry's perspective on the media and negative news; highlights from the Google/Zillow session; and how web 2.0 figures in real estate.

  • NAR's "No Limits Live" blog has posts on a wide range of topics throughout the week. Curiously, there was no link to the blog from the Expo's main page.

  • At Future of Real Estate Marketing, Joel Burslem says "There's a seismic shift in Real Estate 2.0 underway right now."

  • Jeff Turner used his iPhone and Utterz to bring a series of interviews, session recaps, and insights from the convention.

  • Daniel Rothamel, The Real Estate Zebra uses text, audio and video to share the highs and lows, BloodhoundBlog.TV, being remarkable, and highlights from Seth Godin and Lou Holtz.

  • The Phoenix Real Estate Guy, Jay Thompson, takes a break in the Blogger's Lounge.

  • On BloodhoundBlogTV, Greg Swann interviews Jeff Turner to get his impressions of the show.

If you know of other show coverage, please add a link in the comments. The 2008 convention will be held November 7-10 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

 >>>>>     UPDATES - Links added November 17     <<<<<

  • Tech Marketing Educator Nick Bostic summarizes his daily experiences at the show including using maps with search results and the new HP tablet notebook.

  • The 2007 convention was "fantastic" according to Matthew Ferrara.

  • Lynn Hook recaps "How to Stay Out of Court", a breakout session delivered by Barbara Nichols.

John,

Thanks for the recap.  I was looking for more information on the Conference all week, since I didn't get to go.  I was surprised that it wasn't even easy to find the link on realtor.org.

I have a few impressions on my blog.  They are tagged with "nar convention" but should be on the front page for a few more days.  I also posted some stuff from the A/R party.

Thank you so much was ;putting all this in a capsule for us who couldn't make it.  Sounds like it was tremendous.  Next year the location is more possible.  I can plan a trip to Disney around this convention.  That would be great.  Really appreciate your sharing.

I am new to Active Rain and attended the convention in Las Vegas but did not get to the A/R party. The convention was full of great information. I have made some comments and will be posting recaps of each of the sessions that my wife and I attended on my blog. We got back to Cape Cod (MA) at 3:00 AM this morning and will put the posts up over the next several days.

Jeff - Great spending time with you this week and hearing your insights. This week was big for microblogging (Twitter) and using audio and video on blogs (Utterz). As more agents see how easy it really is and adapt these resources it will bring a whole new level of info to consumers.

John, fabulous roundup, thanks for doing it... now I won't have to do all the work myself and can simply link to you. The AR party was one of the highlights of the conference (I'm sorry we didn't meet), a breath of fresh air in what seemed to be a convention of the walking dead... in other words, nice, honest people who don't know what they don't know, facing an obsolescence they don't even see coming.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate being a REALTOR and the respect that 100 years of NAR has spent making sure that we're all honest and well represented politically, but my feeling leaving the convention is that everyone there is so old school. It was worthwhile as a first-timer to get the lay of the land, but I much prefer smaller conferences such as Inman where all the leading technology companies come out and you get a much better chance to connect with forward-thinking real estate professionals. There is where you'll see the future of real estate.
