When you don’t have a real Winter this year, you have to look back!

Is Winter past or only late…
Asleep, to stir another day?

It seems as if we haven’t has any Winter at all this year here in Newnan Georgia.

As a matter of fact, even though it’s still January, the yellow bells and jonquils are already blooming.

And although we enjoy a relatively mild climate here in the Southeast, we do occasionally get a real taste of Winter, as these photographs from previous years will attest!

Here's wishing you snow if you want it, and sunshine and warm breezes if you don't!

Good morning Richard,

Love the poem, love the pictures.  You are so talented.  We have not had a winter to speak of here in Northeast Tennessee either.  I'm actually okay with it this year too.  It could still be coming though, we all have bets on February and March.

Love those photos!  We have seemed to miss out on the winter here.  A year ago the Super Bowl was being hosted in our area and we had that rare ice storm that made national headlines and placed challenges on the event.  With El Nino's influence we may be in for a light winter but then again there are those surprises!  Enjoy the sunshine and warmer days!

Don't say that!  As soon as you mention it -- you know what happens!  Same thing when I say "hey, the traffic is not too bad!"  Suddenly ... bumper to bumper back up for miles :)

Richard, it's sort of a relief after last winter.  I don't mind saving a little money on the heating costs and sure don't miss the canceled appointments or the fear of sliding into the ditch.

The poem was exquisite and so are your photos.

Good morning Richard,

So far the Dallas area has had a very mild winter...hoping we skate through it without the storms we have had in the past two years.

Have a lovely Sunday!

Great pictures, Richard.  We haven't had much of a winter either, and this year, I'm thrilled.  Next winter will be fine.  8-)

Richard, Just a few days shy of completing January and we've had two light dustings and one ice storm that wasn't overly bad.  A VERY mild January in all.  I expect Mother Nature has some payback in mind over the next couple of months :)

We have had a very mild winter here this season!   Not saying I miss it either as I feel a bit guilty since I know we do need more snow than we have received!   LOL  Love the pictures!

First, I love these photos. Love them. Second, I'm in Wisconsin, and we, too, have had an extremely mild winter. I'm actually okay with it, though I do feel bad for those who enjoy the winter sports. I'm just wondering if Mother Nature won't deliver a hefty load of snow in March and April to help make up for December and January. Ugh...

WIth temperatures nearing 70  here the other day and a much warmer winter than normal, I'm just happy to look at your pictures rather than battling snow days!

Yes it's nice to have warm days but a lot of plants such as our peach trees need the cold to produce a good crop. Hopefully we'll get enough soon!
