It is a very sad thing that people can only deal with success.  The reality is that we learn how to succeed by changing the things we did that caused us to fail.  Great post!

As you rightly point out - the key is to learn by our mistakes and not be afraid to make them.  Of course, if we can learn from the mistakes of others, that helps as well.  That is one of the benefits of forums such as ActiveRain.

Hey Gary, goood positive boost to build confidence.  I remember learning to play saxophone in fifth grade. Boy it sounded awful at first, but when I got to ninth grade, my practice had paid off.  Best of success to you this year!

Failure is a tough way to learn.  However, the lessons we learn from trial and error are lessons well learned and will help us to do better in the future.

I agree but I do wish there was a point in our lives where we knew all we need to know and failure is no longer necessary. :)

Even when we got the tune down pat we still need to keep practicing because we can get rusty again!  Very nice analogy!
