Although "family values" are an integral part of a society, the government has no business to instill these values upon the people. So if you are voting for family values, it will be a loss of a vote. Especially since his infrastructure is not in place nor is he knowledgeable on foreign, monetary or economic policy.
Satar did you even watch the video. He took out all the claim like your and explains it based on economics and facts. Debate based on what is in the post not your preconcieved ideas of what Rick Santorum is all about.
Politics aside, I wish nothing but health to young Bella. My thoughts are with her.
I am a political junkie and actually listened to the entire speech and studied this right wing ideology that without a conservative based society, that America will fall apart for some time now. So in his case he outlines 3 major factors that provide for a highly statistical quality of life. However, what he, and people like him, fail to realize is that if the Federal government protected our individual liberties, rather than provided a welfare state, then it is no one's business if Jason finished high school, got an education and married after graduating college or if Jason dropped out of highschool and married his gay partner of 4 years. So family values is a nice social contract that we might have with one another, but it isn't the role of our government to uphold those beliefs, rather let the individual to be free to decide their own fate. I use the Constitution as the basis of my facts. Let me know if I am missing something or if you want to discuss a specific solution he proposes, such as giving a higher tax credit for children.
And Jason is correct, all politics aside, I hope all goes well for Bella.
The country is ACTUALLY Center-RIGHT and the fact that the media is LIBERAL often distorts the perspective of what is in the hearts of voters.
The fact that democrats and the Obamas are attempting to court the NASCAR fans shows that FAMILY VALUES voters are something they wish to attract.
Wallace - Not sure I concur. I think the majority of the country is Socially Liberal, Fiscally Conservative. But I've never saw an official vote and have personally never been polled.
