I very rarely (as in almost never) write any kind of post resembling something a Techie would write. So I am passing this on to you so that you can make of it what you will and/or consult with someone to find out how if at all this will affect you.
I subscribe to Kim Komando’s newsletters and yesterday she wrote about Facebook rolling out Timeline.
My take is that if you have questionable photos from when you first started with Facebook and were young and impetuous, you might want to clean them up. Some Facebook-ers have already been contacted by Facebook and told they had 7 days to clean up their photos before the switch.
Of course I know my dear friends here at ActiveRain have used good judgement in what they’ve posted but you may want to pass this on to your son or daughter setting out for their college or job interview. Those party photos may be best kept in “Vegas.”
Kim Komando gives advice on what you can do to help protect your privacy and visibility. You can for example go to your Privacy Settings and limit who sees old posts of yours.
Tagged Photos-” people tagged in your photos as well as their friends will still be able to see them.” per Kim.
I’m not even going to attempt to explain this but suggest you head to her site or go to Facebook and see how or if this may affect you. And please feel free to jump in and share what you know!
