Home Buyers- Still Fence Sitting? Why are you waiting?

If you have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to buy a home, you have come to the right place. It is now, by expert opinion.. " The Perfect Storm"!

Interest Rates are very low. Home Prices are low. What? You want the  home prices to go down more before you buy? You mean, you would pass up the home of your dreams based on price alone?

Unless you plan on selling shortly after buying, whether home prices rise or fall a little more, it shouldn't matter to you, providing you have the means.

I had a phone call recently from a buyer asking me if a certain home was still on the market, he said he was ready to buy it, to his dismay.. the house was sold! See, if a property is priced right with the right agent,  generally speaking, it will sell quickly.

I met another home shopper who has been looking for 2 years, still waiting! In my opinion, he will probably never buy a home!

Another case in point: my personal residence has lost signifigant  value. I bought in 2004. If I didn't buy it, someone else would have.

I bought the house because I loved it and had to have it! I don't care that my home lost value. I love my home, plan on living here for a long time. Over time, my home will gain in value. I like living here regardless of the market. I like the tax write offs, I like that its mine. I love paying towards something that I own, instead of giving it to a Landlord.

Real Estate has its highs and lows like the stock market. Real Estate is not only a long term investment, it is a place to live and something you can call YOURS!

Lori - I agree with you. The house a buyer wants to call home will be called home sooner or later. If they wait, someone else will be calling it home.
