Bike Share Is Coming To New York City

On Jan 27th, 2012 New York City Department Of Transportation announced that the Bike Share program will be coming to the five Boroughs of New York City by this summer. Bike Share is a network were bicycles will be available at self-service docking stations around the city 24hr a day. Currently New York City DOT and its partner Alta Bicycle Share are looking for input from our citizens regarding where the bike docking stations should be located. There will be open house events, workshops and events where New Yorkers can even try out the bikes and give feeback. New York bikers, you can start helping this program now by visiting Bike Share New York City and "pin" a location that is important to you.

If they police this program well (as in make the bikes safe from theft) this could be a great idea. A terrific way to get around NYC
