Looking for homes for sale in Princeton? What neighborhood would be best for us? This is one of the first questions home buyers ask when they are relocating and moving to Princeton.  The first surprising answer is that there are actually two Princetons, officially known as Princeton Borough and Princeton Township. Both municipalities share the Princeton school system, but otherwise are two completely separate political and administrative municipalities.

Princeton Borough covering 1.76 square miles and a population of 13, 578 residents usually attracts people who are looking for walking distance to High school, downtown and University. The homes are often on smaller lots then in the Township, and are in general older, although there is a trend for builders to buy these older homes and build new houses on the same land.

The Township covering 16.25 square miles and population 16, 662 surrounds
the borough and has great mix of properties including “newer” developments of larger homes. Princeton Ridge is one such beautiful community to which I am very partial because I live here and am on the Board of Directors of our Association.

Situated at the top of the Princeton Ridge, it is located within a few miles of the downtown. The adage that all real estate is local applies even on a micro level to our community. Princeton Ridge has three parts:  Arreton Road homes, which were built by the developer 18-15 years ago; Fitch and Pettit Road homes - built 7-15 years ago, some by the original developer and later by individual builders and architects; Stonewall Circle – sub community of architecturally interesting two- family homes.

Our development has tennis courts and is surrounded by the protected land, which belongs to the Association.

There are currently several homes for sale available right now in the $1, 500,000 - $1, 600,000 price range.  These homes are large usually with 5/6 bedrooms, 3+ bathrooms and usually have all the latest bells and whistles for properties in this class.

There are several shopping centers with supermarkets within a few miles of the development. Princeton train station is a few miles away and Princeton Junction train station is a 15 minute drive. The Princeton Hospital is within a few miles as is the elementary school. The middle and high schools are within 5 minutes drive.

The community is a haven of natural beauty yet within a throws away from other major shopping, museums, library, and commuting arteries including route 206, US route 1 and US route 95.

Cynthia -Princeton is so many things and buyers often don't know how different the neighborhoods are, because there is no clear boundaries and definitions for where on neighborhood ends and another beggins. I don't think there is much, if anything, on the Internet that describes this neighborhood where I live. Thanks for your comment.

Katerina - I love this neighborhood and admit I am a bit partial - I live here. Our neighborhood is surrounded by acres of protected land, so I can't see anyone from my house.
