Glad to see this post Cathy. I hear so many varying opinions about Texas and it's committment to "green." One of my blogger friends from Katy, Texas tells me it's not a very big deal there...yet. It seems like San Antonio has a better handle on it...and I'm betting Austin is pretty hip to green too.

HI Cathy,

Great initiative and the reality is that government or private enterprise can not fix our society alone, we all have to play our part in some way every day.

Making Real Estate Profitable

Hi Debb! During my training for the NAR Green designation I learned many wonderful things about Texas. Austin is one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the nation. CPS, our energy provider in San Antonio, offers some of the lowest electric rates in the nation and is very environmentally friendly. In fact, they are the initiator of the $50 tree rebate for folks who plant trees and..... they provide $2perkw solar rebates before the federal incentive.

Hi John! Thanks for the kind words.

Hi Adrian! It is a great example of public and private collaboration indeed!

Hi Peter & Linda - It does take cooperation.
