I have never given it much thought, but when I saw the 30 second commercial contest, I wondered what my commercial would say.  Its really to bad that I cant show a video each time I need to recite my profession to make an impression.  Showing all the things that could happen if you follow "Murphy's Law".  So I have given it some thought and here is what I have come up with...

Kim Murphy, 1st Advantage Mortgage             murphys law

working to make dreams come true

without Murphy's Law.

I know not brilliant but there it is...

Kim - another term used for a 30 second commercial is an "Elevator Speech".  You don't want to tell your entire story or "pitch" in a quick elevator ride, but instead you want to catch their attention so they ask you a question or ask for more information.

I love the tie-in to Murphy's law.  How about:

"I make your dreams come true without Murphy's Law"

Try it at a networking event, leads group, or even an upcoming holiday party and let me know what happens.  Good Luck!!!!

How about this- "You know how it seems that when people buy a house something inevitably goes wrong? I make sure that doesn't happen."

Kim, what networking group did you join?  I have taught a number of "Business Development Workshops" that dealt with networking and leads groups.  I'd be happy to have a conversation with you regarding networking if you'd like.  I moved out to the Phoenix area 4 years ago from the north suburbs of Chicago.  I'm heading back on Thursday to be with my Mom.  My Dad passed away yesterday after a long struggle with lymphoma. (you can read my blog yesterday about "Am I wrong to keep working...."

Mana... Thank you!  Always nice to see you!

Jim... I read your blog and commented, but I will tell you again here, I am very sorry for your loss!  As far as the networking group, I joined DPWN...Dupage Professional Womens Networking.  I will be blogging about it in the next few days.  I'd love to have a conversation with you.  Give me a call when your back after being with your family.  Dig up the 'ole winter coats, they have uttered the "F" (flurries) word once or twice!

You have to stay optimistic in this line of work!  HONEST and OPTIMISM goes hand in hand with INTEGRITY  in my book!

*Let's not get confused with being realistic though...
