Lebanon City Government Civic Donations Continue for 2012
For a town of around 20,000 people, Lebanon offers quite a bit to quality of life. Selected as one of Ohio magazines 2012 Top 5 Ohio Hometowns, it's easy to understand the selection when you know the city!
Want more evidence that Lebanon is a great place to live? The Lebanon city government has just released their latest civic donation list. The Western Star reports that $3000 each will be going to the following organizations:
- Christmas Horse Carriage Festival
- County Arts Council (host of the annual Arts Festival)
- Country Applefest Committee
- Historic Downtown Lebanon Inc.
- Lebanon Theater Company
- Optimist Club (host of the Blues Festival)
Additionally, they'll waive $5,000 in utility bills for the Humane Association of Warren County and $13,000 in utility bills for the Warren County Historical Society.
While funding is down from past years, with the economy tightening requirements and urgent infrastructure items such as street repair taking precedence, it's great to see that the festivals and arts still have a solid place in our community!
Each of these programs contribute to bringing not just Lebanon residents downtown but tens of thousands of other visitors (and their dollars!). Visit the Applefest, Blues Festival or Christmas Carriage Parades and you'll know that a lot more than the 20,000 Lebanon city residents are in attendance!
So kudos to the Lebanon city government for continuing the funding contributions to these community critical organizations!
